The World of Chocolate is available for pre order!
Finally, my new book is ready...
After years of research, travel, conversations, tasting, and writing, I'm thrilled to finally share that my book, The World of Chocolate, is now available for pre-order! The book will be published by Artisan Hachette on 6 October 2026.
The World of Chocolate takes readers on a journey from cacao farms and fermentation centres to chocolate factories, chocolatiers, cafés, and home kitchens. Along the way, it explores how chocolate is grown, crafted, tasted, paired, bought, and celebrated across the globe.
Inside you’ll discover:
How cacao is grown and transformed into chocolate.
A country-by-country guide to where cacao grows.
What shapes chocolate flavour and how to taste it with confidence.
Practical advice on buying, storing, and understanding chocolate.
Pairing ideas for chocolate with drinks and food, both sweet and savoury.
Chocolate traditions and culture from around the world.
Hundreds of spotlights on cacao producers, chocolate makers, chocolatiers, destinations, and people who are shaping the future of chocolate.
A few of my favourite chocolate recipes.
But this book is about much more than chocolate itself.
It is about the people who dedicate their lives to growing cacao, crafting exceptional chocolate, preserving traditions, experimenting with new ideas, and sharing their knowledge with others.
Over 1000 different people were involved in the book, sharing their knowledge, giving advice on pages, sharing their research and experiences.
I had the pleasure of interviewing hundreds of chocolate and cacao experts from around the world.
More than 400 businesses and organisations are featured in its pages.
Every photo in the book is either my own, or sourced from actual chocolate makers or cacao producers around the world.
Their generosity, passion, and expertise made this book possible, and I hope it does justice to their remarkable work.
My hope is that The World of Chocolate helps change the way people think about chocolate. That readers become more curious about flavour, ask where their chocolate comes from, discover new makers, visit local chocolate shops, and appreciate the incredible journey behind every bite. If the book encourages even a few more people to support craft chocolate and quality cacao, then it will have achieved something meaningful.

If you’d like to support the book, pre-ordering is one of the most valuable things you can do.
Pre-orders help build momentum before publication. They encourage booksellers to stock the book, increase its visibility, and help it reach journalists, reviewers, and new readers. Every pre-order makes it more likely that the stories of the remarkable people featured in the book will reach a wider audience.
You can pre-order through your favourite local bookshop or online retailer or use this link.
Finally, thank you!
Thank you to everyone who contributed their knowledge, photographs, stories, and encouragement throughout this project. Thank you to everyone who has supported my work over the years, including for following along on SIPS. And thank you to everyone who chooses to pick up this book and join me in celebrating the extraordinary world of chocolate.
Giselle
