Issue 22: Sotres, Spain
Yesterday was World Chocolate Day. Considering that everyday is World Chocolate Day, I don’t see the point. Interestingly, the writeup I’m sharing today isn’t even of chocolate but of cheese! I’m still sharing stories from my trip around Spain exploring the history of chocolate. Last time it was San Sebastian, today we are in beautiful Sotres up in the mountains of Astoria. Next newsletter we will be stopping in Astorga, a town with a very important chocolate history.
We visited Sotres to eat Cabrales, a beautiful blue cheese. If hot chocolate is the first food group, cheese is the second. I’m also working on some blue cheese/chocolate recipes. If anyone has any experiences or tips or have any offerings, please let me know! I’ll share what I find out next time.
A Hot Chocolate and Cabrales Cheese in Sotres, Spain
When in doubt, and when there is no hot chocolate, eat cheese. Sotres is famous for its Cabrales blue cheese. What a magical place.
