Hello or "Welkom" as the Dutch say,
As you can see, I'm going to change the way that I share my blog posts. You will now receive these regular emails with links to current blog posts as well as some other hot chocolate related news and links.

This week I was writing up hot chocolates I had in Amsterdam, Netherlands (pre-covid). Did you know that 25% of the worlds cacao goes through the Port of Amsterdam? The Dutch government is committed to achieving 100% sustainable cocoa consumption in the Dutch market by 2025 (that includes hot chocolate of course!).

Thanks for following,

Giselle

How to order a hot chocolate in Amsterdam: Ik wil alsjeblieft warme chocolademelk.

And in other hot chocolate news…

The EU wants to get rid of single-use packaging. One option is edible seaweed based packaging. I wonder if I could fill these with chocolate and pop directly into hot milk for a seaweed flavoured hot chocolate? Mind blown.

I need some of these mini cow meringues to float on top of my hot chocolate.

Calgary, Canada just finished up their 10th annual Hot Chocolate Fest with proceeds going to Meals on Wheels. The winner: Flower & Wolf's chocolate ganache hot chocolate topped with honied marshmallow and a honeycomb crusted milk chocolate truffle pop.
